🌿[Genesis Chapters 8 & 9] The New Order and Changes Established by the Creator After the Flood
After the monumental judgment of the Great Flood, the Creator established new laws for humanity and a new providence for all creation. These can be organized into two main perspectives, along with the additional changes made to the natural world.
1. The Story of Noah: A Model for Humanity and Parenthood
A Model of Priority: The very first act Noah performed after disembarking from the ark was building an altar to God (Chapter 8). This teaches us what should be a person’s first priority: worship and gratitude.
The Role of a Parent: In Chapter 9, Noah’s actions—strictly disciplining a child's wrongdoing while blessing others—reflect how a parent should raise their children.
Key Lesson: One of the most important aspects of leading a child onto the right path is ensuring they clearly understand their mistakes.
2. A New Order and Commandments for Humanity
Following the flood, God established specific laws for human life to maintain a new order.
Change in Diet (Allowance of Meat): While only vegetation was permitted previously, God expanded the human diet by stating, "Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you; just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything."
The Law of the Sanctity of Life (Prohibition of Blood): By commanding that meat must not be eaten with its lifeblood still in it, God emphasized the sacredness of life.
The Origin of Justice: By decreeing that "whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed," God clarified that human beings are precious entities created in the Image of God.
🌞❄️🌈 Additional Changes to the Natural World
The Bible provides clear answers to natural phenomena that science and human wisdom cannot fully explain.
The Establishment of Seasons: God promised: "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." The seasonal changes we experience are part of a divine order.
The Rainbow Covenant: As a sign of the eternal promise never again to destroy the world by flood, God placed a rainbow in the clouds.
📌 Conclusion
The flow of the four seasons and the rainbow appearing after the rain are not merely natural phenomena. They are the Creator’s documented explanation and a record of His unchanging promise previously shared with humanity.
